To the Newer Agent in a Shifting Market 6/2/23

6/2/23

Everyone says the market is going to get tougher. Here are my thoughts…

Did I ever tell you about the time I watched a whole bunch of agents that I looked up to and respected just quit the business? I was left wondering: “Well if THEY can’t make it in this industry, how the heck am I going to do it?”

Are any of you thinking the same thing right now?

Do you to want to know what I learned back then?

Those agents that left the business were accustomed to a service-based market and the whole world had moved into a skills-based market. This means that agents needed to change their way of doing business and those agents made the conscious decision not to do it.

Hey Linsey, what’s a service-based market?

service-based market is when the business comes in easily, an agent serves that business when it comes in, and move on to the next client.

skills-based market is where we are now. An agent now need to use their skills to go out and get the business instead of the business just falling into their lap.

So what’s the difference between myself in 2007 and you today?

NOTHING.

I didn’t have to unlearn old tricks because I was still fresh enough in the business that regardless of market conditions, I still needed to go out and get the business. Every single one of you is in the same boat. You, our Fearless PC Agent, never developed easy habits that need to change. You have fresh eyes and fresh perspectives and fresh energy. Please hear me when I say this because I don’t say it lightly: this shifted market is yours for the taking.

So as we are gearing up for Pre-Season IMPACT next week at Lake Minnetonka, please consider signing up if you haven’t already done so. I’m personally going to be diving into this material as an agent, not just as a coach. Every single one of us needs every single skills advantage out there, regardless of tenure. The registration link is below.

As always, it is an honor and a privilege to be in business with each and every one of you.

Onward!
