Your Future Self

When people must sleep, they first must act as if they are already asleep. Once you understand that, you truly can accomplish anything you set your heart to do.

Boundaries are not just about protecting your current time; they are about clearing the runway for the person you are becoming. If you don’t set boundaries on the old version of your business, you will never have the capacity to build the next one. You cannot step into a higher level of leadership or scale your company if your hands are still full of the tasks, the clients, and the micro-management that belonged to your past.

Every major breakthrough in your business requires a breakthrough in your identity. If you’re finding yourself at a ceiling, the strategies that got you to where you are today might possibly be maxed out. They cannot take you to where you want to go next. To reach that next milestone, you don’t need a longer to-do list; you need a different version of you running the show.

Let’s look past the day-to-day fires. We are going to meet the person who has already solved the problems you are currently stressing about. The person who makes decisions with absolute self-trust, who enforces her boundaries without a shred of guilt, and who runs her business from a place of total alignment.

We’re going to find out how they think, how they act, and exactly how they handle the assets and challenges you have right now.

The Future Self Visualization

Your business cannot outgrow your current identity. If you are still operating as the ‘Scrappy Solopreneur’ or the ‘People-Pleasing Hustler,’ you will sabotage million-dollar opportunities because they don’t fit your current self-image. We have to access the version of you who has already built what you are currently dreaming about. Before you can think like them, you need to feel what it’s like to be them.

Imagine, if you will…

I want you to imagine a door in front of you. On the other side of this door is your business and your life, exactly three years from today.  Take hold of the handle, open the door, and step through. As you step into the future, you find yourself observing the version of you who is living three years ahead. You are watching your Future Self.

Observe them first from a distance. Where are they? Is it a beautiful workspace? Are they at home? Outside? Notice their surroundings.

Now, look a little closer. Look at their physical presence. Notice the way they sit or stand. Notice their posture. What is the expression on their face?

There is a distinct energy they carry. It’s a deep, unshakeable sense of ease. The frantic, rushing energy of the past is completely gone. They don’t look stressed, and they don’t look hurried. They look rooted. They look like a person who knows exactly who they are, and exactly what they are worth.

Watch how they interact with their business. Watch them open their laptop or talk to a member of their team. Notice the boundaries they effortlessly maintain. They aren’t apologizing for their time, they aren’t second-guessing their decisions, and they aren’t outsourcing their authority to anyone else. They trust their compass implicitly.

Now, I want you to walk over to them, and in your mind’s eye, I want you to step into them. Merge with them. Step into their body, see through their eyes, and feel what it feels like to be them.

Feel the spaciousness in their chest. Feel the lack of anxiety in their stomach. Feel how natural it feels for them to hold this level of success, this level of impact, and this level of profit.

While you are sitting in their energy, you look back at the version of you from three years ago—the version sitting in your chair right now.

You, as your Future Self, look back at your past self with so much love, compassion, and pride. You remember how hard they were working. You remember what they were worrying about.

This is the part that really matters: Your Future Self has a message for you. So ask them: ‘What do I need to stop doing right now? What do I need to let go of so I can become you?’

Listen closely to their first word, phrase, or feeling that drops into your awareness. Take a deep breath, anchoring that answer, that feeling, and that unshakeable ease directly into your cells. Know that this person is not a fictional character. They are you. They are simply the natural evolution of the choices you are making today.
Grab your pen, open your notebook, and write down whatever came through for you.

What did they tell you to stop doing immediately? Take five minutes of quiet time just for you.

Anchoring Exercise

Now that you’ve ‘met’ them, you’re ready to download their wisdom. Treat your Future Self like a high-level consultant. We’re going to do some diving here.

The Over-Correction: Look back at your current 2026 business through your Future Self’s eyes. What are you currently agonizing over that they know doesn’t actually matter?

The Missing Link: What is the very first thing your future self stopped doing? What did they delegate, automate, or completely eliminate to free up their capacity?

When I was in grade school I remember friends coming home from church camp, proud to show off their new rubber bracelets that had the acronym WWJD. I think it’s time, as business owners, that we also consider WWID…

I trust this exercise gives you some clarity.

Onward…
