Eight Pillars of Trust

You might remember me writing about The Trust Edge awhile back, one of my favorite books from one of my favorite authors. David Horsager is a MN native and shortly after he published his first book, his entire team rented office space from the same brokerage I hung my license. Dual career during the market crash, I was tending bar until about three am, sleeping fast, and rolling in to be the first person in our real estate office. Typically Dave would beat me there.

Dave was the Keynote speaker at the MN Realtors Unite conference this week and he recently published another book Trusted Leader: Eight Pillars That Drive Results. During his presentation, he discussed the Eight Pillars and what they mean to us as business owners and as leaders. Let’s break them down together.

Eight Pillars of Trust

Did you know that among thousands of people surveyed, an overwhelming number of people responded to the question “who do you trust the most?” with the exact same answer. It wasn’t the Dalai Lama. It wasn’t a political figure. It wasn’t Dolly Parton (my guess) or Betty White (my other guess). It was… mom. Most people trust mom. Isn’t that just the sweetest thing you’ve read all day?  Below is a list of what David Horsager states are the eight fundamental pillars of trust.

1. Clarity

3. Character

4. Competency

5. Commitment

6. Connection

7. Contribution

8. Consistency
