Hello Everyone and happy Monday!

It’s official- the kids are home from school for the summer and we’re in our first full week of WFHWK (IYKYK)! In the past, this first week of summer gave me a lot of anxiety; this year I’m thrilled to have space and time to explore and learn with the kiddos.  The chore chart is on lock, our activities are fully planned through the next month, and our kiddos know that the adults in the house are ‘invisible’ before 12pm on the weekdays. Let’s go!

We had an outstanding event last Friday and I’m so grateful to everyone who made it out for Tea and Transformation.  Special thanks to Mercedes Forslund with Oliver White + Fairway Mortgage, and also to Nick Dreher with Great North Title for sponsoring our event. I couldn’t have done it without you!
We rolled up our sleeves and did a lot of inner work.  One thing we discussed is the power words have over us, especially the ones we use when we speak to ourselves.  I mentioned something I learned about the Gaelic language that I think is really cool, and I wanted to share it with you today.

LANGUAGE MATTERS
In English, we tend to treat our emotions as identities. We say, “I am stressed,” unintentionally equating our entire being with a temporary state of mind. But Irish Gaelic approaches it with far more grace. In Irish, the phrase for being stressed is Tá strus orm, which translates literally to “Stress is on me.” This tiny linguistic shift changes everything. By treating stress not as who you are, but as an external force currently resting on you, the language creates a healthy psychological boundary. It reminds us that stress is simply a heavy coat we are temporarily wearing—and just like a coat, it can eventually be taken off. Direct language order for most emotions is similar in translation: “Sadness is on me”, “Joy is on me”, “Anger is on me”. These emotions visit us, but they don’t stay.
I think this is really cool, especially when talking about big feelings. We tend to assume that emotion is our identity, where in reality it’s just here for a visit.

I hope you get a kick out of this month’s blog postings.
As always, it is an honor and a privilege to be in business with you.

Onward,
Lins

In the business world, we are taught to mitigate risk. We are taught to look at data, study benchmarks, and get expert opinions. None of those things are inherently bad. But for many women, risk mitigation turns into something else entirely: it turns into outsourcing our authority.  When we don’t fully trust our own executive intuition, we don’t just make a decision and move on. We run it by a committee.

When people must sleep, they first must act as if they are already asleep. Once you understand that, you truly can accomplish anything you set your heart to do.

Boundaries are not just about protecting your current time; they are about clearing the runway for the person you are becoming. If you don’t set boundaries on the old version of your business, you will never have the capacity to build the next one. You cannot step into a higher level of leadership or scale your company if your hands are still full of the tasks, the clients, and the micro-management that belonged to your past.

We’ve all had that moment.  You sit down with a perfectly reasonable to-do list—ten solid, business-building tasks—and your brain takes one look at it and says,  “No. I don’t think I will.”  Nothing on the list is optional; none of it is confusing.  Yet somehow, starting feels impossible, and you find yourself doing anything but the thing you planned.

Q2 has a way of picking up speed without asking permission.  You start the quarter with clear intentions—build, scale, refine, maybe even “finally get organized”—and somewhere along the way, things multiply.  New ideas, half-finished tasks, client needs, backend projects, follow-ups you meant to circle back to. By late June, it can feel like you’re running 50 open tabs in your brain, all playing slightly different versions of the same song.
