Dear Friends,

What a glorious Mother’s Day Weekend we had over here last week! I spent hours sorting the vegetable garden and hubby made butter smash-burgers (YUM) while the kiddos worked thoughtfully on homemade cards for me.  My heart is bursting.

You might be surprised how many things we consider ‘weeds’ here in the suburbs actually have incredible healing qualities! I’m foraging my yard for tea and tinctures, and my kids are getting in on the action. Little Odie isn’t at all interested in drinking tea, but he sure as heck finds it satisfying to pull the whole dang root out with the dandelion! He’s all in when I grab some bowls and head out in the yard before the bus comes.  He’s curious about things that I’m only now learning about, and it’s a really cool new parenting level to be learning new things with the littles for FUN. Buggy, meanwhile, is my research queen and with her new (limited) access to technology, she’s researching on her own things that might be helpful to me. These kids are so dang cool.

We’re coming up on the end of the school year and for a lot of us, this means feeling even more squeezed for time as we anticipate additional daytime responsibilities while our wee ones are free from structured learning.  This will be my seventh “First Day of Summer”, and this will be my first approaching it without a little bit of dread. Dread? YES. I always felt anxious about how to juggle work with keeping the kids from burning the house down.   If you’re in this boat with me, this is your sign to start planning your strategy now. Don’t wait until the last day of school to decide how your daily and weekly structure is going to look during summer break! Design your ideal workday and plan for unexpected contingencies now. Map out a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule for your family’s sanity, and build your workflow around it. The hardest part, for me at least, was consistency.  I found that really stripping down to the most important stuff kept me from going off the rails and over-committing to things that didn’t move the needle. What I thought would be the most un-productive time of my year has always ended up being the most satisfying, fulfilling, and lucrative time instead. I wrote a blog about prepping for Summer Sanity last year, and it is all still good information today. Check it out.

If you aren’t in this boat, check on your friends who are. They might need a dose of sanity and a friendly reminder that they’re doing amazing these days. 😉

All jokes aside, I’ve got a great event coming up in a couple of weeks and I’d love to see you there. Please register for Tea and Transformations if you haven’t already!

Enjoy the rest of the school year, folks. I’ll see you in June!
Onward,
Lins

You might know this feeling intimately. You spent hours preparing a thoughtful, strategic listing presentation. You pulled comps, customized your marketing plan, and walked into that appointment genuinely ready to serve. More than that, you connected with the homeowners—you could feel it.

If you’re in midlife (or just plain adulthood) and you are considering a career pivot to growth or leadership, it’s almost impossible not to feel like you’re behind. You scroll past younger influencers who seem to glide effortlessly from one success to the next, with their polished brands, endless energy, and somehow… time to batch content, go to the gym, and drink water like functioning adults. Meanwhile, you’re over here thinking, “Did I miss my window?”

Have you ever wrapped up a genuinely productive morning—client meetings handled, conversations flowing, feeling like a fully capable professional—only to sit down at your computer and completely stall? You open your inbox, stare at it, maybe click one email, then another, and somehow an hour passes without a single real decision being made.  Or you fall into the very important task of researching the perfect closing gift, only to realize you’ve used up all your energy before getting to the work that actually matters.

If you’re a real estate agent, you probably have what I lovingly refer to as a “List of Doom.”  It’s that running list of administrative tasks—entering leads into your CRM, reconciling expenses, drafting property descriptions—that somehow feels heavier than every client-facing activity combined.  You know it needs to get done. You even have time blocked for it. Yet the moment you sit down, your brain suddenly decides this is the perfect opportunity to reorganize a drawer, research something wildly unrelated, or finally tackle that one email from 2009.
